Danny Astrande

Danny Tordel Astrande, 85, of Hilo, died Feb. 17 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born Dec. 30, 1926, in Dolores Abra, Philippine Islands, he was a retired sugar cane truck driver and member of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Hilo.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. March 3 at the Church of the Holy Apostles,1407 Kapiolani St., for a 2 p.m. Mass. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Rodney Astrande, of Keaau, Randal (Carlena) Astrande, Darren Astrande and Douglas (Miriam) Astrande, all of Hilo; brothers, Petronilo Astrande of Manila, Philippines, Conrado Astrande, of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Patricia Torres

Patricia “Pat” B. Torres, 68, of Hawi, died Feb. 24 at her residence. Born Oct. 19, 1943, in Hilo, she was a retired waitress for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 3 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is at Halawa Catholic Church Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Bernard Torres Sr., of Hawi; daughters, Lisa Torres, of Kohala, Teresa Emiliano, of Hilo; sons, Raynard (Marylou) Torres, of Kohala, Bernard (Yvonne) Torres Jr. and Matthew (Laura) Torres, both of Hilo; brother, Herbert (Sandra) Saldana, of Hilo; sisters, Josephine (Stanley) Tamura, Georgiana (James) Yamauchi and Judy (Ricky) Banasan, all from Hilo; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews.
